Sister Essie Lee Kinchen was born August 11, 1925 in Phillips County, Arkansas to the union of the late Jennie Jamerson and Essie Burke. Her love and commitment to the
Lord was known by her love for family and friends.

Sister Essie Lee Kinchen professed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church in Helena, Arkansas. There she served until she moved to Detroit, Michigan. Upon her return to Arkansas, she reunited with Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a Mother and the Ushers Board.

Sister Essie Lee Kinchen was united in Holy Matrimony to Ezekiel Kinchen, Sr. and to that union eight children were born.

She is preceded in death by her husband, the late Ezekiel Kinchen, Sr.; her parents, Jennie Jamerson and Essie Burke; two sisters Laly Wade and Charlene Dorsey; one brother Ulus Burke Sr.; one daughter Mary Lynn Kinchen; and one son Samuel (Sammie) Kinchen.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories three daughters, Laly Hudson, Chicago, IL; John Ester Kinchen, Detroit, MI; and Ruth Baker, Detroit, MI; three sons, Ezekiel Kinchen, Jr., Little Rock, AR; Jonathan (Corless) Kinchen, Sr., Pine Bluff, AR; and Robert E. Kinchen, Helena, AR; one brother, Leroy Burke, Elaine, AR; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many other loving relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
